Need help! Is this Fake or Real?

Hey guys! I've started collecting antiques and I especially love to collect artifacts from different civilizations (Greek, Egypt, etc). So I found this lovely ring today and I was just wondering if this ring here is fake or real. The seller mentioned that this was from Ancient Byzantine Empire. There's also a Certificate of Authenticity provided if you request it. So what do you guys think? Fake or real?

Id get the COA. Then it may be fake also. Anyone can print them. Cool ring tho.

I'd get the COA then call that person to verify it was he/she who signed it.
Ask for the source reference for his/her decision.
Then, after you have checked for potential comparable items and prices- decide.
