Need help. Rare? Indiana Civil War Button? and..My first two cent piece.

Went out to my favorite place to hunt for a couple hours yesterday and picked up my first 2 cent piece (1964) - not the rare one! I went out today for about an hour after work and I have started digging all the crappy signal. Got a bottle cap type signal on the AT Pro and pulled out this button. Unfortunately in two piece. Indiana state seal button and I think it is civil war era. Does anyone have any ideas. The back has Columbus on the back and hard to make out what else it says. Thanks for any help!

Button back mark looks like M.C. Lilley &Co. Columbus O., circa 1876.
I could be wrong about the back mark without a good pic.
Congrats on some killer finds. Keep diggin those "crappy" signals!
ps. use a little elmers white glue to glue back together if ya want to.

Thanks. Now that I look closer I think you are correct.

I agree with Leonidas that your button was made by the MC Lilly Co. I do think it is a three piece staff officer button. There would have been a rim that held the front and back together.

The 2 cent piece in the whole was a jumpy mid tone in the 50s. Out of the whole it was a solid 71.
