It's abut the size of a quarter, fairly thick and I believe is made of lead, so it's most likely a seal. Byzantine? Any help appreciated. gr1.jpg gr2.jpg

Ligature Seal, CM PZ, Image by StuE, Found by Paul Hewett.
Found in Essex, 23mm, 12.7g.

A merchant mark design on one side consisting of a figure 4 with an extended leg crossed by a second bar and leading down to a large heart enclosing the letters C and M in circles that incorporate the top curves of the heart and the letters PZ near the pointed bottom of the heart. The other side has the depiction of a bunch of grapes.

Possibly connected to the wine industry.
