Bought the book to help me price it but can't figure out a good price range for this exact watch any help would be greatly prescient it. 18k serial# begins with 408 1920's I believe
Well I have been offered 1100 and 1400 for the watch but I believe it's worth more I started it at 5400 and I'm all the way down to 2000 as my start price
Great find for $250. Unfortunately people don't use pocket watches anymore so they don't carry the same premium as a wristwatch. EBay auction is a good judge of value. If you get no bidders at 2000 you will probably need to lower it or hold out until you get a bid.
I'd put that a way for retirement, as that's what I've done with all the old wrist watches I've picked up here and there with in the last 6 -7 years, as I sold off so many in the beginning years of eBay. The best one I had was a 1947 Audemars Piget, all case and band 18K wristwatch, that was mono'd JD. The guy I got it from said he got it from an old women who told him she went out on dates with the fighter Jack Dempsey back in the day and he gave it to her one night. I paid $1200. on it and sold it for $3600. I don't have, but a few pockets watches and none are anything like that. Awesome find you scored for $250. Again just keepsake that thing if you can? So many other things you could find out there to make up only 250 bucks on.
