I found a live Dyer shell last weekend and buried it right back. I know right where it is and will dig it back up once I find someone who can defuse it. Do any of you know anyone who can defuse and preserve live artillery shells who live around Maryland, Virginia, or North Carolina? Thank you so much for any help!

Smart thinking re: burying the shell...hope its deep enough so it can't be exploded accidently...like a farmer plowing...or someone using a post hole digger or auger...or the like.

US Army and Marines may also assist.

However regardless of who provides assistance, they will most likely blow-up the shell.

They are not in the business to diffuse or disarm and then hand it over to a civilian.
