Made it out to a site I pounded a year ago, brought a friend along for the hunt.

The site is a dot on the 1876 map and has given up a lot of silver coins and relics.

First signal was a Veeder cyclometer. This is an odometer made a hundred years ago as an odometer for bikes. Extremely well made to come out of the dirt like this.

A couple of wheats popped out and then roundness in the hole, big dandy button. Thought I had an old copper.

About 5' away the best signal of the day, about 6" deep, perfect high tone, small and not too strong. Dug the plug and green-ness popped out. Called Steve over.

Rubbed off some dirt to unveil a 1835 Largie, first LC from this site.

Another great signal sounded like a silver dime. Ended up being a random piece of silver (tested positive) maybe a bottle collar of some sort, no markings.

Here is everything from the afternoon hunt.

Plus another spoon for Steve's collection.

Here are some finds from a quick hunt on Friday.

Lots of lead soldiers at this site.

Broke my arm support towards the end of today's hunt. Will have a replacement printed by the time I wake up in the morning.

Gotta love it when your kids have useful toys!

Good luck out there!

The scrap silver may have come off a pipe stem.

Congrats on the old copper and button finds. The toys soldiers are always a cool dig, though I'm interested about the arm replacement photos.

Thanks for the ID Crusader! While the piece I found has been trampled flat over decades you can see a curved edge on one side. Probably a pipe stem band like this. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1517750317.782359.jpg

Excellent day in the woods. We are watching the snow fall and the ground is frozen solid.
Congratulations on your finds.

Thx Pepperj! My son has an inexpensive 3D printer. There are a number of models available for download for arm cuff supports. This one is meant for my Garrett. Took about 6 hours to print with black PLA filament. I had my son program 50% honeycomb pattern infill, he thinks I could have gotten away with 25% which would have shaves off a few hours. Thx. I've found these brass tags all over W PA. Some just a number, some with a coal company or farmers name. I believe these were used like on a cows ear, a barrel of whiskey, a coal container or as a tag the miner would hang before entering the shaft.

Thx Pepper06! It is amazing how much a site in the woods changes in a year. The last time I was there it was a full out jungle thick foliage with bitting insects. It is nice and wide open now. Could have swung for another 3 hours. Also learned to detect slopes adjacent to flat areas in the last year and that is where I found the dandy and LC yesterday.

Those lead soldiers are cool and that Large Cent is a sweet find. You seem to be an expert ACE250 user, you find a lot of nice stuff.
