Well got out with my new 6" dd coil for my minelab today for a few. Went to my favorite spot I've hunted out pretty much, been going over it again an again to no avail. Was there five minutes found this

It's an old trash pile from the thirties, seemed to do well. It's gold plated bronze with a garnet. I'm stumped as how I'm to clean it without destroying it. It's badly corroded any suggestions?

I would probable leave it and if you decided to get rid of it take it to a reputable jeweler and see it's worth, you could make things worse... good find congrats

Thanks. Yea, I put it in some olive oil to stop it from crumbling. Seems to have stopped the oxidization process. Or at least slowed It down

Did a lil cleaning, think it's gold plated bronze?? Dunno. Put a lil peroxide on it, an it helped it alot. Lots more cleaning to do
