Welcome to Tnet. Don't buy too cheap and don't buy too expensive when startin out, cause you'll wind up thinkin 'what a piece of crap'. I bought a White's Classic Coinmaster. Real simple. One knob, one tone. Man I raked in the stuff with that. I used it every day and learned it. I now have a DFX, which is very advanced for me, and sometimes think 'what a piece of crap!' I won't promote one brand, cause I've seen some good finds with Garrett, Bounty Hunter, Tesoro, and on and on. Lots of dealers on here. You might contact Mike at Woodland Detectors. Pretty much a regular guy who will talk straight with you.
