Just received my Pro with 5×8 coil earier this week and finally had the chance to see what it could do this weekend. Good timing there doing alot of road tearouts and redo's here near old downtown, last couple of months they were doing the sidewalks in which I had my best hunts ever which I am still trying to get a post together on all my finds, overwhelming! . Anyways back to this weekend. Started at 6:00 am on Saturday on a promising road where on the sidewalk tearout I plucked out my 1928 Peace dollar. 10 min in got my first signal,8" Inches down I found my first At Pro find, a Indian head cent that is really toasted and still trying to clean to get a date. Over the last 2 days I found alot and learned alot about the pro, I found the id is very very accurate an

d the pinpointing is dead on. I gained a few more inches than my GTA 1000 could provide, the Silver quarter I found was at around 12 inches which really impressed me, my arm and hand still ache from digging it out of this HARD Vegas dirt. Although my gta is great at seperating trash from target there is no comparison to what this pro can do, sooo much easier to decide to dig or not. Found alittle of everything, surface and of course buried, Siver quarter, dime and war nickel was great to see come out of the ground. Here are the pics of my finds. Going back next week to hopefully catch my permission hunt on a great house frim the early 1900's. Homeowner was not home, cant wait till next week.

Hey man , looks like your getting simpatico with the AT Pro ! Just wondering ( since I make jewelry ) why whoever made that cross, didn't
keep the "over/ under" motif going on that cross ( see the lower horizontal transept or the left vertical ) I hope I'm being clear with my
question here . Great finds !

I’ve used about all modern ones but right now: CTX 3030, White’s MXT Pro, XP Deus, Vaquero, White’s TRX

The AT Pro is a good detector for the cost. I hated it at first because I was used to a "beep and dig" machine, but I have found quit a bit with it. Not as good as your haul though! In my arsenal, the AT Pro is only second to my CTX 3030.

A quarter in 12 inches of dry dirt with a 5x8 coil? Why don't I get anywhere near results like that with my ATP using the stock coil especially after 2 inches of rain the last 2 days?

Terry I dont know since it was bulldozed dirt but packed hard by machine traffic made a difference in its depth finding, but I was amazed I never found acoin a coin ever at that depth. The farther i dug the ground was moister im sure from them wetting down the dirt. Showed past 10 inches on machine but no id but still a nice clean but faint signal. I doubt my GTA 1000 would of picked it up, im definitely going back to my regular hunt spots ans see what I may have missed.

great finds there! I really like my 5x8 coil better than the 8.5 x 11. just preference.

I feel the same, think the 5x8 is staying on my machine, also im used to the smaller coil, my Gta 1000 has the 5x10 elliptical.

Great finds for the area.
Man, 12"! I usually need a jackhammer after 5"! Thank the dozer for helping you out! I was out there a few weeks ago but didn't see ya. (you get up to early for me, LOL!)
They were still doing east/west construction. Maybe the north/south might be just as good, or better with your new machine. I'm still waiting for my Explorer to get shipped back from CT so I can take advantage of this awesome weather. Using an old backup for now.

Man, I sure am glad to see you posting. I've been wondering how your new ATP was treating you. I have one coming this weekend and I am really anxious to use it. What a killer haul. If you're used to the GTA1000 and like the ATP this well, imagine what I am going to think after my GTA 500! Congrats on a killer hunt and thanks for posting. I was waiting.

Your going to love the Pro, dont get me wrong I felt like I was cheating on my GTA 1000, we've been together along time and she treated me well and I still see myself taking her along with me on hunts for backup. Just trying to get used to the swing, balance a little different on the pro. Definitely lighter though which is a plus after 6 hours of swinging. cant wait to see your first hunt post. Good luck and H H.
