While detecting a few weeks ago, I met a retired army guy who lives in my neighborhood. Today I was detecting in my front yard. He stopped by and tossed a quarter into the grass when I wasn't looking. I promptly found it while telling him how the dectector "bongs" when it finds a coin. Then when I gave it back to him, he handed me a weird old worn-out copper coin. I was able to read the words "Montreal" and "Un Sou". He said he found it in the park. He is a caretaker there.

I found a picture of something similar, in much better shape, on coincommunity.com, posted by Bonedigger. There are evidently many varieties of this. I can only read it a few words on mine when I view it with the naked eye. Through a magnifier, or on a scanner, it's illegible to me.

Old copper from a new pal, and no digging required!

LOL, you could say you found a "Trade" token.
