I got lucky and found an unhunted campsite yesterday. Even luckier in that the dirt is like beach sand and the digging is easy. This appears to be a small camp maybe even a picket site. I'll know more if I can hit it again before soybeans are planted here which could be any day. The shiny thing is a silver shirt stud. Also found is what appears to be a tie clasp with the patent date Feb 5 1888. It isn't CW but a cool find anyway. Thanks for looking.
Mike

Out standing! Relic hunters dream to find a virgin campsite. I was just down in that area .I have a lot in Bath and went down to look it over. Lots of history in coastal NC.
