We just had a 26 year old driver, drive his car north, on the sidewalk, from 42nd St. to 45th St. and 7th Ave.
It has been reported that he struck 23 pedestrians, killing one. The young woman who died is a tourist from Argentina. The event took place at 11;54 A.M. in Times Square.
The driver tried to flee but was tackled by a traffic agent and was assisted by a few civilians. The police have arrested Richard Rojas and are taking him for drug and alcohol testing. Mr Rojas has a criminal record, including 2 arrests for drinking and driving.
This guy had a lot of problems. He served in the the Navy and they are saying he did 2 months in the brig.
Neighborhood people from his Bronx address say he came home a changed person and tried to deal with his pain by drinking.
Help is available and is a lot less painful than continued problem drinking. Look at the pain he caused and where he is going to be for the rest of his life.
Three day weekend for me! I think I might go to my cabin and do some spring cleaning and maybe some water detecting? Got to watch the weather and decide in the morning.
