I decided to try out the Detech DD today. First impressions: Pros: it is more quite / stable than the stock 9.5", greater coverage, lightweight and great separation. Cons: nothing really worth mentioning yet. The open design catches on the grass more and pinpointing takes a little more work but that is just to be expected from this design. It loves pull-tabs
but I don't know that is due to the coil. I can't say whether it hits deeper yet (and I personally think that concept is over-hyped). All in all, I'm quite pleased with it so far...a good purchase

I’ve been swinging one for years on both my Etrac and MXT. I can’t say if it goes deeper that my stock coils, but they are quite stable and have very good separation abilities. My only very minor complaint is that they tend to get a bit heavy after a few hours of detecting. But that is clearly a given considering their large size. Good coil overall.
