Today I join the Garrett Metal detector family. I got a Garrett Ace 250 and already found my first coin with it on a 10 minute test hunt. I'm so happy.
Well, you are neck deep in it now! Once bitten by the bug, the fever slowly grows within you - eventually making its way to your wallet. Welcome my friend, to the hobby that never ends!
Hi Digger x. The A 250 is a great machine. If you go to "Metal Detecting" then "Brands" then "Garrett" and type in "my guide ace 250 coin hunting" you will find a write up I did on using the A 250 as a coin hunting machine. It's a great way to learn and fun, I've moved on to searching much older sites, made some upgrades and focus on relics now. Good luck!
It's been over two days since you posted this thread. Where are your FINDS?!? Ha Ha! Seriously, get out there and learn that new machine and begin posting your finds on the forum. It's a blast and we can ALL learn from each other and gain knowledge and encouragement from sharing our goodies. Have a great treasure hunting experience mate.
Welcome to the worlds most addicting hobby and the greatest ! I started with a 125 $ metal detector and have spent thousands of $ on detectors and accessories since then. Worth every cent ! Good luck !
Welcome Digger X, the 250 is a great machine. Found lots of good stuff with mine. Don't use it as much as I used to but it is still in the arsenal. Looking forwards to posts of your finds. HH.

My finds so far, detecting the same areas where I used the gold digger ll, finding coins I missed, penny's but coins nevertheless. I did find this 1925 penny.
the more I use the Garrett Ace 250 the more I'm finding, thx everybody.
Heck yeah. That's more like it. Nice old spark plug, garden hose end, grommet, and pull tabs. The kind of finds that get you some surprises along the way. Nice wheat penny too. Thanks the posting some pics.
