New farm gives up the early goodies....

I am a new member to this site. I have been reading the posts here for a year or so. I have been waiting to join until I had something worth posting. These coins are only 2 of 20 or so I have found in the last 3 hunts on a new farm I got permission on. These 2 are in pretty decent shape and the pics do them NO justice. They both have a bunch of oil on them in the pics but I will take better pics tomorrow. I am hoping some of the more knowledgeable members can help attribute the variety of these coins and perhaps give me an idea of value. The scratch on the 1798 is a old scratch. I did not do this... although it still makes me as sick as if I had. The only thing I have done to these is rinse them off and drop them in some olive oil. I have found some decent dates at this site. I got 2 1796 Lib caps, 1 1798, 1 1799 (date is very bold but coin is very rough), 1 1800, 3 1802's and 3 1803's and a 1837 LC. I also found 5 or 6 1787 KG Coppers, 1 NJ Copper, 1 Conn copper, 1 1785 Nova, 1 Half KG, 1 1774 1 Real, 1 1774 1/2 real and several other colonials at this site. Not to mention over 100 buttons.

I will post a bunch more photos tomorrow using natural light. I want to get the best pics I can of the 1799 because it IS pretty rough but such a good year. Thanks for looking!

You have a great spot there. My detecting group hones in on those types of coins. I would very much like to see all the coins you found at the site. It doesn't matter the condition. I have posted many completely worn coppers over the years.Great job.

KILLER finds you have there. My group and I just got done hitting a site that yielded us 23 large coppers. Yours sounds very similar. What kind of site was it?

Post pics of all the coppers.

I love the deep green patina on those draped largies. Very attractive coins. Great job.

wow, a 1799 cent? even a rough one could be worth several thousands!! that will be a banner find I think!!!
The 1800 looks like a overdate also, not too uncommon for a draped, but I like the overdates more than the regular ones, but I do like them all..lol..
