I'm trying to find out how old this is. I found it one foot deep in the ground in the woods about 20 feet from an old pre civil war home. There is a Methodist Church on 700 Monroe Street in Nashville, about 40 miles from where I found it. I would appreciate any info.

Neat find! I'd try and get the number for that church and ask for the pastors email and send a pic. And see what they say.

The church in Nashville has been there since 1803 I believe. I have tried to contact someone from there but no luck yet.

Can anyone tell me what this is ? It's heavy and soft like lead. I found it close to a late 1700's early 1800's home about 10 inches deep

Wow! What a nice medal. If it's been in the ground for many years, it would almost have to be gold......or at least gold plated to be in that good a shape.
