I’ve got a Garrett ATX and see they are now offering new closed coils... both DD and mono.

The closed coil sounds great for sifting soil.

Question: How do you guys decide between the DD and mono coils?

Thanks!!

Chuck

The 19 inch i tried on the minelab the other day seemed noisier than the 14" mono and my mono sdc.

Only used an atx once several years ago had the open coil but, a cover on it. I didn't use it long enough to really gauge its capabilities.

PI is a game changer for depth on small trash. Big coils make pinpointing and target recovery speed a whole new skill to hone.

Maybe a larger MONO for stability depth and coverage for initial patch hunt. And a smaller DD for production. And depth on small to mid size gold nearer the surface and for gully hunting.
