Got a detector for Christmas. Been lurking here since....and getting really pumped. Due to a bunch of snow on the ground and the ground being frozen here in Omaha, I haven't been out w/it except to find a few nails in the front yard. My house was built last summer, so I doubt I'll find much.

But tomorrow I'm heading to a park or two for a few hours.

I wouldn't give up on your own yard just yet. Even thought the house was only built a year ago, the ground has been there a long time. You never know, some poor old lonesome Cowboy may have fallen off his horse and lost his $20 gold piece. Ooops,,, there I go, Dreaming again... But, ya just never know until ya dig...
