So the 'hot spot' has simmered down some. I went with the 5" SunRay coil for the whole hunt, first signal within 10 minutes of searching, I got my 'classic' nickel tone and depth of 5-6". I dug the plug and a 1909 V-Nickel made it to the surface. I recently found a 1906 V-Nickel that was in great condition.. and this one might have topped it.

A little while later, I got another nickel tone, but was bouncing around. I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Turned out to be an unusual piece of jewelry. It was at the same depth as the other coins from the teens, so I would say this piece was around the 1920s or early. I have no idea.

I ended the hunt with a 1917 S Wheat. No silver to report.

My finds...

Those old buttons and liberty nickels are some of my personal favorites.

I know how to partly clean those V nickels so they look awesome. Yes, they are one of my very best finds.

Congrats on your digs...good job!
