Bounty Hunter...the "rules of the game" are constantly in motion. Michigan used to be quite wide open but now the state seems to have locked down all their state park beaches restricting you to just a very small area at each that in most cases are areas that have little traffic, meaning few goodies. Michigan is quickly becoming like all the other states. I don't do federal lands though a lot of people do...again...the rules can be too confusing.

Thank everyone for your replies. I'm headed to AZ on Fri for a week. Taking my new detector. Can't wait to start digging.

Who do I need to contact for the rules on digging the dunes of lake MI or Federal land?

Thanks again four your replies.

Thanks. I hope when the weather gets better and you all start digging again that I may hear from you again with some tips and tricks.
