This is a new permission field & we had a researched targeted Iron Age/Roman Site on it. Cru'dad had done a few solo hunts & only come up with about 5 scrappies, so today he wanted me XP it & see what happens. As it seems like a low value site, we were not expecting much, but deployed the usual gridding tactic, starting from the unknown working towards the known.
Ended up a worthwhile 4.5 hour hunt, with a little from every period; Iron Age, Roman, Saxon, Medieval, Modern.:headbang:
We were expecting to strike it off the list, but its bobbed up a little to the top.

16 Roman Coins
Tudor Button
Crotal Bell
Tudor Buckle
Medieval Leather Mount
Medieval Horse Harness Hanger
Circa 11th C Saxon Mount - Shape of the Green Man - Rare early image, hard to photo8-)
Lovely Roman Fibula:icon_thumright:
Roman Brooch
2 bits of Roman Bracelet
2 Roman Mystery bits
2 Hammered - Ed IV & John
Celtic Bronze Unit - circa 10BC - Tasciovanus, Bull reverse

Haven't seen anyone post Celtic bronze in a while, that's a cool find. That fibula is really a fine example, I'm amazed it not broken!

That Celtic Bronze is our 6th this year, which is equal to our best years total, so if we are lucky we may get a new record....:dontknow:

Thanks Cru for sharing. Great finds [emoji106]

What a pleasant surprise for you guys. Great spread Cru! Are you planning on returning?

Incredible Cru! I never get tired of looking at those early British hammered silvers you find. I think they are some of the coolest looking coins. That Roman Fibula is awesome... looks like it held up great and has an awesome patina.

Killed it again way to go and happy hunting

Probably one of the best even patina's we have had in a long time.

Fantastic - some amazing history represented there. Congratulations on a great hunt.

That celtic bronze coin is cool! What is that ribbed thing pic #4 top left? Looks kind of like a belt hook?
