I've had a zoom lens and a decent telephoto zoom but until today, didn't have a macro lens. I did a little experimenting and thought I'd share a few. Hope you enjoy the colors.

Too cool. Thanks to some of the pics on here I went down and bought a new camera with a zoom and bought a telephoto extra. Thanks to you, I got to have the macro. When I bought the camera, I told them I wanted one that would take a picture of a gnat's *** at a thousand yards and people would say 'That picture ought to be in a calendar'. Due to what I'm learning from you guys, I'm getting there. (They did look at me funny at the store when I said that, but they understood right away!)

;D That's too funny. Close enough to take a picture of a gnat's ***, huh. OH boy, insect porn!!

Thanks for sharing. I was literally just talking to a coworker about macro lenses. What camera body and lens are you using?

Even the lower end cameras today usually have a macro lense built in. I can't afford expensive detecting equipment and a high dollar camera and lens both so I just have to settle for the macro setting on my cheapie Sony. Those are some superb pics I have to admit. I envy you. Monty

Thanks. I have an older Nikon D70 and I just bought a Sigma 105mm macro lens, which was significantly cheaper than a similar Nikon lens. I'll be experimenting with it for a while.

My wife was picking out flowers yesterday and made the comment about some of the colors. I made the remark that if we just look around us that no person can beat the colors and wonders of Gods own pallet. Those are great shots of the flowers. Thanks for sharing.

I've been playing with a D40 and really enjoy it. I'm thinking of making an upgrade, but first I'll learn more about lenses. I know Sigma makes some good ones. Thanks for sharing.
