New man on the treasure hunt

Hello all ive just bought my first detector. Its A garrett discriminator. I will appreciate any info or links on how to use it.

Ive read a bit about it and look fwd to using it.

Best think to do is read the owners manual till you understand it....take some coins out in the yard and listen the sounds they make ...then throw in some junk pullbabs round and square rusty square nail,paper clip and try to hear the differance in the sounds.....then try your own yard first...learn to dig a plug there.and have fun that`s what its all about. HH

You didn't mention your state (or country) - but you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting your state for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

Now, as far as your MD - take a look at Forum > Metal Detecting Forum > Brands > Garrett...
