Hey everyone, I just joined this forum a few days ago and wanted to say hi. I have seen a lot a great finds on the forum and can't wait for the weather to break, so I can post my finds for the 2012 season. I'm still learning how to navigate through the site, but was finally able to complete my profile. I already meet some great guys on this forum who have recommended I join. After one or two days of joining I already got a pm welcoming me, and that really went a long way in my book. 2011 was my first year of metal detecting and it's been an addiction. I'm on one other forum, but wanted to check out what the other Illinois guys are finding. Good luck this year, and HH.

Midwest,

First of all let me start by saying Welcome to Tnet. I've only been here a short while but the members here have made me feel like a long time member. As far as addiction, you hit the nail on the head with that. I can't tell you how many times I've looked out the window, at the snow, and wondered how hard would it actually be to dig the frozen ground. But I digress, can't wait to see what your neck of the woods has to offer this spring.

Hey there, one of my heartbreak recons this year saw me and Mayo drive by the Indiana Street tearout in Saint Charles this summer and just miss the cut of the old pavement down to the original roadbed. One of those sidewalk/street tearout dream sites. Not a house on that street where that work went on newer than about 100 years old.

They had already pressed it and were laying the gravel when we got by there. But hey, coming year presents more street work up in the Elgin hood and you're welcome to join the bullet pickins' there with us this spring.
