I've had my eye on this park for a few years now; it covers almost 2acres, so I'm going to be here for a while. :laughing7: I'm not a big fan of hunting modern parks due to the amount of trash that comes with them, but his park is situated in the middle of a post-WWII housing development, so I felt that if I hit the right areas I might have a chance to find some silvers! I first detected this site on Monday for 3hrs and found one silver dime, so I went back again on Tuesday ... because where there's one there's usually more! I had to dig a lot of pennies, so this second dime was hard fought for! I dug a number of 'Wheaties' and a few 1950 - '64 pennies; consequently I feel there's most certainly more silver here to be found. I've gridded selected corner areas of the site and will definitely be back here again soon! :icon_thumleft:

Thanks for looking and best of luck to you,

Dave

PS. The last item pictured is an aluminum lid to something or other. I liked the decoration, there is also the name 'Frolic' impressed in it. Best I can tell is 'Frolic' was a brand of dog food in the 1950's. :dontknow: The 'sparkly' rock was in one of my plugs and thought it looked cool, so I brought it home! :laughing7:

You were not kidding, that is a big park. I agree, there's probably more silver out there. Go get it.

Nice finds! Congrats on your silver!
I like the lids too! I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds other stuff interesting, if I like a rock it comes home with me! Lol!
I have a tiny one looks like it has a gold flake in it.

Lot of stuff you found, and silver too !!! Modern parks drive me crazy. pull tab, penny, pull tab, pull tab, penny, foil, pull tab it never ends.

I have my treasure chest for all the goodies and then I have a "cool stuff" box for things I like or don't know what they are, that I bring home. Every so often I'll go through that "cool stuff" box and be like: Why in the hell did I keep this?

Very nice silver dimes. I agree with you there is more to be given up at that park. A nice place to fall back on if you have nowhere else to hunt.

yes the trash can be over whelming at times, especially the can slaw and foil but it still beats no place to dig, you have some nice goodies to show for it, nice indeed

I went back again today for 2hrs, but no luck! :occasion14:
Tomorrow I'm heading back to the site where I found the British Martingale Badge, fingers crossed I'll find something more than pull-tabs! :laughing7:
Dave

Nice digs.

Thanks!

Thanks for your post K! :occasion14:
Isn't it amazing what comes out of the holes we dig, sometimes the 'by-product finds' are better then what the detector finds! :laughing7:
Dave

You're welcome buddy, thanks for your post!

I hear you unfound! :occasion14:
Occasionally, I'll go back through my scrap brass & copper bucket just to see if there are any 'keepers' I might have missed initially! :laughing7:
Best of luck to you out there my friend,
Dave

Very nice silver dimes. I agree with you there is more to be given up at that park. A nice place to fall back on if you have nowhere else to hunt.

This is exactly how I feel beez!
I can go there for short 2 hour long hunts and keep gridding out small areas each time.
Thanks for your post,
Dave

Cool! Pennies and dimes are my favorite coins!

I like finding coils too ... but pennies just drive me crazy man! :BangHead:
Thankfully we now have $1 & $2 coins here in Canada and they pop up a lot too.
Just today I went back for a quick 2hr hunt and came out with $6 in change! :laughing7:
Dave

Thanks very much for your words of support dirtlooter! :occasion14:
This park isn't as bad as some are for trash, but the amount of pennies here is very frustrating! :p
Best of luck to you my friend,
Dave

Thanks for your post Steve!
The colour of silver will always be better than copper buddy! :laughing7:
Dave

I was like, "Man, that's a lot of Canadian coins in one spot..."; then I saw where you live. :laughing9:

You would be amazed at the amount of US coins I find at some 'older sites' I hunt! :o
Back at the beginning of the 20th century here in Canada, we were using both US & Canadian coins as accepted currency!
I usually find 2 - 3 Wheaties on each hunt,
Dave

Congrats on the silver saves ! Looks like a good site to me =)
Thanks for your post CRM! :occasion14:
Hopefully there'll be a lot more to come too!
Dave
