I had 2 half day metal detecting hunts at a new permission and found some keepers. 1892 Indian Head penny, 1897 V nickel, 2 silver coins 1957 dime and 1952 quarter, the other dime came back in change from a store, 1925 Buffalo nickel, a nice pile of Wheat pennies, smallest Crotal bell I have ever found, a locket, some kind of key holder, and a 1970 dog license which would normally not be anything but this one is number 2 dog for the county for that year. I will take any suggestions on this key holder or whatever it is. There are 2 pictures, one with the end open and the other, if you pull on the square on the end it will close. Marked England on the end and somewhat IMG_0001.JPG IMG_0010.JPG IMG_0009.JPG IMG_0008.JPG IMG_0007.JPG IMG_0006.JPG IMG_0005.JPG IMG_0004.JPG IMG_0003.JPG IMG_0002.JPG IMG_0011.JPG nicely made of brass. Happy hunting and have fun out there. That thing I wasn't sure about is a Sprenger scissors clip for a dog leash so it can be released quickly.

Great finds! I've seen "clips" like the one you've found on fly fishing nets. An easy one hand release mechanism while holding the fishing rod in the other.

Congrats! The IHP is in really nice condition and the V Nickel looks pretty good too! Those are usually completely wrecked by the ground in my area.

Thanks. The nickels don't always come out so nice here. I think it depends on what has been put on the ground over the years. Fertilizers?
