Got up early this morning and by md buddy picked me up we headed out to a new place I got permission to hunt near the battle of North Anna River (25 acres) Well right when we get out the truck and turn on the machines and hit the field we both got a target right away, mine was a 1857-O half dime, my buddy got a 1941 Merc. BINGO! Right away I figured we was in a good spot. Well we hunted for about an hour and found nothing much else but some iron, an ol' Boy Scout pocket knife and I also got a 1913 wheaty. When we were done ( trust me I wanted to stay) we went to the landowners house to show him what we found, he asked if we had found any CW relics because the Confederate Army of Northern VA was all through there, "No , can't believe we didn't find even 1 bullet" I said. Then he proceeds to go to a back room and pulled out 3 cases of NICE Confederate and Union relics that he and his wife had found there, that may explain why we didn't find much, I was shocked to had even found the silver after what he had showed me. He uses a Minelab Safari and his wife a Tesoro, sure they cleaned it up really good with those machines. But anyway it's a good area and I can't wait to go back, beautiful place they have.
