In cases like this it would help if you conacted the county offices and told of the harmful metal in the beach sand. They should metal detect for the junk they bring in. At least it could stop them from closing the beach to metal detection because detectorists do them a favor.

The new sand at this beach was pumped from off shore. So there could be anything in there.
But rest assured there is a lot of iron and aluminum in there.
My arm still hurts thinking about it.

I think as time goes by, this beach could turn into a good place to hunt. ;)
