Hello everyone,
Got out today for an all day hunt with Terry Everly of TNET. To say the least it was hot and humid. I've been eyeing this place for years and just dreamed of getting to hunt it. We drove by and I saw his truck and car there. We turned around and I knocked. He is a younger man than I and I know his brother. I thought for sure it would be a "No" but it was an easy yes. And the day I didn't have my camera. Terry didn't have his either. This is a clean, tidy place with the year 1833 on the side of the house. What a beauty of a place.
We didn't waste any time to detect it. However, it wasn't loaded like we had hoped for. My first dig was an old flat button. Any idea of the age?? Then I dug the first silver of the day, 1958. Then I dug another, 1945. Then I dug a 1919 wheat. I must have 15 of that year. Then I dug another. Then a few more wheat's. My best find of the day for me was this old pocket watch. To make it even better I found the owners name (Kirby Cabin) and the year, August 1912 Antioch. Any ideas on the FOB and what it means with the big dagger on the front and the man?? I'm sure it's the old college in Yellow Springs Ohio, Antioch College which is pre-1900. I also dug a tootsie toy (submarine) Don't know the year. Also dug a UMC shot shell which I know is old and another one as well.
Terry found the best stuff and he'll be posting later tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for looking. I'll post some pics of the old house when I can get back over there. Ron
