Finally have some time to post finds from a Sunday a.m. hunt this past weekend.
This area had a ballfield and small school at one time, but was all tore down and is now in a flood plain.
I did not have a lot of hope for this area as most spots I hunt in reclamation projects are just full of tear down trash.
When I arrived the brush and poison ivy were even thicker then I expected. Found a small clearing to start in and had a good dime reading right away. Turned out to be a piece of copper pipe. I thought, here we go, tear down trash. Two feet away got the same dime reading and to my suprise out pops a '46 rosie. Sweet! After that, the coins just started coming. Thought for sure a quarter would show up, but not to be. Battled the brush for about two hours and came away with some nice coins and a bunch of wheaties. The war nickel and one of the Mercs was in the same hole.
Thanks for looking,
Matt
