New to Metal Detecting, looking for Mder's in Columbus area

Hello to everyone, I have made a couple of post so far but maybe it is just me but does anyone reply to post or just read them. I live in Columbus Ms and would be interested in talking to or meeting a few folks who metal detect. Remember I'm new to the game, so knowledge is a valuable asset to me. I just purchased a Minelab Safari and it will be in soon and I plan on giving it a whirl. Thanks to any response and good hunting to all.

Hello Bandaid, I am not from the Columbus area, I live in Biloxi. I just wanted to say hello and I think you made an excellent choice with the Safari. My main detector is the Explorer SE. I will try to help if you have questions.
