Finally upgraded to a detector I wanted for a very long time. The black f75 Ltd 2. I laid some old and new coins etc. in my yard at first to play with the settings and messed around a bit just to get use to it. Today I finally took it out to a semi overgrown old field for a couple of hours to give it a shot. It wasn't long until the finds started showing and I am very impressed with the depth of this machine and the boost mode was awesome in the long grass. Some of the finds were super deep. Got a gold filled pocket watch, some nice buttons, 1864 ns one cent, huge 1847 British one penny and some other odds and ends. The coins were rough but I couldn't have asked for more on a first short hunt (except maybe some silver) with the new machine and hope many better finds soon to come. Thanks for looking! [emoji106]

The button is a "commissariat staff" button. Not sure what this one dates to yet but probably between war of 1812 and victorian. Maybe someone will know! [emoji2]
Yes the Crown is Pre-Victorian.

Thanks. They are probably pretty common button around your area I bet. I can't wait to get back to that field. Got dark on me. I wish the big Victoria penny was in better shape. They are huge. I knew it was one of them or a 1864 New Brunswick token. That was only the second one of those i ever dug. First one came out in great shape.

Think the watch is a wrist watch. I found a similar design on a 1915 (I wish) Rolex...

Nope, Pre-Victorian Military Buttons are far from common over here. Between Dad & I (1000 hours), only 5-10 a year.
