New Zealand mint will offer a limited edition of Star Wars coins. While the coins are meant to be collectible, they will actually be legitimate currency for Niue's 2,000 residents. Each coin is worth two New Zealand dollars but will cost far more for collectors. One set of 18 coins will retail for about $470 U.S.

36.00 NZD New Zealand Dollar = 30.19 USD US Dollar

If what you are referring to is that the coin will be worth approximately 2.00 NZD but cost 470.00 USD I believe the denomination will be 2.00 yet, these things will not get into the market Niue as legal tender though they can and could be used as legal tender. I believe Niue agreed to the issue to help with some "capitol infusion" for the tiny island nation, no doubt offered by NZM.

Yes, I'm from Wisconsin, but you are incorrect about "He's never SEEN an Island!" I grew up on Oahu..Don't ask how I got to Wiscosin...I'm still trying to figure that one out.
