Newbie to this site. Glad to be on board. I love seeing the daily finds.
Found this child's ring in an empty field by a school that I have been working for about a month. A local gold buyer said that it is 18 carat gold. The stones may emeralds, but I'm not sure. Anyway, first gold ring since restarting my metal detecting hobby at age 47, after finding first gold class ring at age 16 with a "generic" detector.

Hi Imnengr and welcome :hello:. The Ace 250 is a superb machine, but you probably know that already. It took me months before I found my first and only gold. Well done :icon_thumright: and here's to seeing many more great finds from you.

Great ring, I'd have it looked at by an antique professional, it looks old....

Thanks everyone for looking and for welcoming me to this site. I appreciate your interest in my latest find.
Here are a couple more photos that I would have posted in the first place if I knew what I was doing...user error!
I don't really know much about this ring except that it is for a relatively small finger. If you know something about it, please let me know!

Welcome back to the hobby! That's a really nice ring! :icon_thumright:

I wonder if the "93" inside the band is the gold fineness?? :icon_scratch: that would make it a little better than 22K.

Greetings Rob (B.C.)...you might be right, the 93 could refer to the gold purity, in which case the gold buyer may have been pulling one over on me when he told me that it was 18 carat gold. >:( (Doesn't matter, I'm not selling it!) Tried learning more on Google but didn't find much. Hoping that someone on this site will know more about the "93" or the possible age of the ring.

was marked with a KDM Stamp which means that the Jewelry was soldered with Cadmium. Cadmium called 'Kadium' in some places and marked KDM was traditionally used in soldering ofgold jewelry for its good properties of liquidity and melting at lower temperatures, which is not the case any more as Cadmium is known to create toxic fumes when melted, which are very dangerous to health, over a period of time and may be harmful to humans, making thegold jewelry, some countries have banned the use of Cadmium from use, from workshops

Found the above by Googling.
