Hi Ed, welcome to the forum. I am retired also. I see you have a nice rec field and a river access up there. Great places to go and learn. Try behind home plate behind the fence and around the bleachers where people might congregate. Another good spot might be around the snack bar if they have one. Do you have a pinpointer? Very handy tool. Now I can't detect without one. Don't be afraid to go it alone.
