As I reported last week on TreasureNet, on my way to metal detecting the beach a bug flew in my left ear while I was driving 35 miles/hr. I pulled over and went to a near-by emergency medical center as the bug buzzed away and went deeper and deeper into my ear canal. However, long-story-short, I drowned the bug at the drinking fountain while waiting for the Doc and left with a dead bug in my ear because I HAD to go metal detect the beach. Any ways, today, one week later, the bug finally washed-out of my ear. The bug was a monster measuring 8mm long and 3mm across. Luckily, it didn't start to burrow into my brain before I drowned it...like a fly.

Should have used a spray bottle or squirt gun with and kept squirting into your ear. The bug will finally get shot out by the water pressure but not hurt your ear drum. Happened to my grandmother, a fly flew in her ear and she was freaking out. We grabbed a squirt bottle and a couple good squirts it came right out.

You don't understand - I used a squirt bottle, an ear wax suction type thing, a water jet, hose, shower spray, head up, head down, straight, upside down, sideways. I used cold water, warm water, soapy water, rubbing alcohol, and olive oil. Also thought about a drill, shop-vac and a vacuum cleaner w a specially made small hose to fit my ear canal. FOR A WEEK! The patient has a very Neurotic, compulsive and anal type of personality...need I say more? Dig-up my original post on Friday 13th. The bug buzzed deeper and deeper, and then buzzed more and more and deeper and deeper. The bug was so far in my ear canal I could hear it breathing! That is, until I drowned it at the water fountain and it finally stopped moving and so I could get to the beach to metal detect. And it was good.
