I'm thinking the next step might be ground penetrating radar if they can shrink the size from a push mower to a metal detector.
And with a display which would start out looking like an pixelated 80's fish finder screen to today's side scan sonar display.

It won't matter, for our purposes, even if they can shrink the pixel sizes to 1/100 inch (versus 1"). You will still be looking at a messy blotch of pixels. Not a magical TV images. In the same way that the current 1" technology renders a horse-shoe (with a seemingly distinct shape) as nothing but a blotch of messy pixels: So too with further-refining ("faster and smaller" ) do nothing more than give you more messy-blotchy pixels. Not a magical TV image.


There are new things in the works out there, however the cost of completely new concepts will prohibit it for our use anytime soon. .....

It has nothing to do with the "evil profit motive". It has everything to do with the laws of physics.
