Re: NH's Indian Stream

I have read about it several times and camped/dove in the area of Lake Francis. NH requires a permit to dredge, Streeters in Keene, NH has the info/applications. The story goes on about a farmer plowing his field adjacent to the stream when he uncovered a large gold bearing rock, the gold was supposedly course in nature leading one to believe that the vein was near or that the rock was dropped by the passing glacier. There is a swamp near the river that has been giving up an amount of gold, a couple of other sites talk about it. I have a book called the Treasure Atlas and it has a section on NH and it talks about this area. Myself, I am a diving detectorist and have considered it on occasion but the stream is very shallow and better suited to panning.
