Nice box of dimes

1959-D
1963-D
1949-S

But I actually found a wheat penny in this box too!
It is the size of a dime, but it seems as though it is copper. It’s a 1949-S. It does seem to me like the lettering is closer to Lincoln’s profile than usual. It is pretty damaged, but it is an interesting coin

They used to file cents down to use as dimes in vending machines. One of the fellows President Obama pardoned on his way out of office had been convicted of a felony the 60s for doing just that while in the military. I knew a guy who use to press aluminum foil very good on the round NECO Candy (same size as a quarter), for payment on the tollway gates. They worked.
