Your spoon is plate. The A1 is a Rogers mark for plate, any Rogers sterling and most sterling is always marked with a sterling or 925 mark. Some jewelry is not marked, usually that made by students or amateur jewelers. All items made from precious metal in England or the US has to be marked with a metal type and purity if it is to be sold by law. Jewelry not made for sale such as school projects and made by amateur jewelers for family or friends need not be marked. I have only found three pieces of genuine sterling flatware in 45 years of hunting.
