Hi!

It was a beautiful fall day here in Kentucky, before it gets too cold soon. A few things caught my eye, and I'm wondering if I found any tools.

Here is the location, a dry branch that often holds water and runs into a large creek on down a little further:

I've walked here a few times, it's really peaceful and nice. Today a couple of things caught my eye though.

Some cool big rocks:

See the hole in it?

Very interesting. However, why would someone grind a hole all the way through the rock and out the other side?

There also seemed to be a more natural looking hole in the other side:

This little rock seemed to have indentations that fit my thumb really well, though I didn't see any obvious man made markings:

Finally, this caught my eye immediately! At first I thought it was a fossil, since I've found several shell type fossils around. However, the rounded top is incredibly smooth, smoother than any rock I've found before really. Also, the bottom of it is so flat! It also has a square shaped indentation:

I'm still new to this and haven't found any tools before, but it seems so perfect? Also, what's with the square shape? Notably, the inside of the square is significantly smoother than the rest of the flat bottom, although the whole thing is quite smooth.

Thanks!

Looks to be a good area for artifacts and am sure they are there. Have seen any flint flakes? I have seen limestone in my area that had the holes like that. It almost looks water worn. Neat area and good luck.
