Picked this up a few years ago.
Looks like it has done a little pecking and grinding and shows it nicely all the way around.

Just a thought, is it possible that is not a Pecking Stone and is really a stone that was being pecked into a Celt or an Axe.

actually grim this thing is not the right shape for what you are thinking.

Also, the battered edge also shows areas that are pretty smooth indicating it had done some grinding. I am thinking it may have been used to peck and grind grooves in various impliments.
