I agree, take it to a coin dealer and see if it would be worth having authenticated.

might be a filled die error. When grease or something else gets on the die and fills up the letters or design. When the coin is stamped. no impression is made on the coin. Not really worth much if it is a filled die error. Hope its something worth something :-)

Nice Find. Where do you get the thing that you put it in? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Update:
? ? ?I sent a scan and the following question to the Koin Pro.

Dear KoinPro:
? ? ?I was wondering how rare this is? Is there any value to it? It does not appear to have been altered. How can I make sure? Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

The following was the response I received.

Figure $2.50 to $3.50 for a no date.? ?Ken

Got to agree with Ken here. The "filled-die" mis-strike coins don't have a lot of inherant value because they're a one-off, just one of their kind. Because of this, they're are tons if different varities each year but none that really interest collectors. But still, it's amazing to think that you're holding the only coin that has this particular error. I love to go through rolls and find strike-through and filled-die errors. Love it! Happy Hunting!

That's really cool!!
