I already get anxiety really bad when I'm going to go yard sailing in the morning anyways. I have a hard time sleeping and all I do is dream about junk... go figure .... then again I'm sure I'm not alone!!

Well the lady from our church calls today and says that her mother wants to sell everything in the house at an estate sale next weekend and wants to know if I will come over tomorrow morning and see if there's anything I want to buy a head of time.

So I'm down for that I'll spend all morning over there I don't care but she collected jewelry and her husband liked coins so there goes no sleep!

Then this is where word-of-mouth comes in that you go to people's house and buy stuff from them or at least tell them what it's worth in case down the road they want to buy it or have me sell it for them, which I make commission for. Two more houses after that I have one old lady who I bought a huge coin collection from before about a year ago and then another guy who has been cleaning out his house and his father collected all military stuff.

Not to mention it's Friday so there will be yard sales mixed between the commutes as well from house to house. So I plan to get about three hours of sleep tonight. And then tomorrow night when my family wants to go out to dinner I will be a big cranky turd!

I can't wait and I have some buyers lined up for certain things already. Should there be any of that stuff there. so worst-case scenario if they will have all beanie babies or troll dolls but I highly doubt it! Part of me wants to take a nap now but I think it'll make it even worse later tonight! Also I don't think reading everybody else posts helps anything either just brings more excitement for the morning to come!

So good luck tomorrow everybody and hope you find lots of goodies!

I'm in the same boat Beachkid! I helped an older lady and her family load up her house last week to move her into her son's basement. I started loading up a box and they said that it stayed cause it was going into the garage sale(tomorrow) along with all the other stuff by it. I was amazed at what I saw just looking on the surface! It looks like that lady has not thrown anything away since the late 40's! We are talking a plethora of antiques! I will most definitely not be sleeping tonight.

Haha I just recently started doing this, the garage sale thing but i can totally relate. I have been getting to the friday and saturday sales early so i can get a good number. My heart starts to pound when it gets close to entry time. It's a total rush for me. That house you are going to sounds like a real honey pot - jewelry and old coins wow. I am heading to a woman's apartment after work who advertised a garage sale and is giving away free jewelry! I couldnt believe my eyes. Here is the listing: "I also will be getting rid of clothes, jewelry, pots & pans, small kitchen appliances, electronics & office supplies [all FREE].

This is not a traditional garage sale. Please contact me if you're interested in picking up any of these items so I can make sure to be home at that time. Thanks!"

I called her and shes holding it for me. I have no idea what it is or how much of it. Didnt want to ask too many questions. Ill post back in a separate thread if its a real lunker of haul.

Little kids are like that.

My daughter needs to potty just when we are the farthest place in Indiana from a bathroom.

I took her to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Walking back to the car, I give her every opportunity to use the bathroom. "Last chance. Wanna try here?" I'd say.

We walked 6 minutes towards our car, and right smack dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood, "Dad, I have to potty NOW!!!"

Just laugh, and try to enjoy it. Most people who have kids understand exactly what you are going through. It won't last forever.

So here's the care package for tomorrow I think I have it all. Business cards, 2 scales in case one doesn't work, loop, acid test, cash and iPad incase I need to write out a contract, my wallet and car keys, deodorant and a couple dollar coins... Oh, and a pen and paper if she is old school. Note: OCD in full affect! No promises it will be good. Still no sleep to be had. The guy I work with has a test tomorrow so he can become a paramedic so I'm flying solo tomorrow.... image-2525123277.jpg

Also something I have learned from my teacher in the last two weeks is separate your stuff. Don't let them know you have enough money to pay their asking price and try to get it out little bit cheaper! And honestly this is a huge problem for me because I have adopted kids and I have a heart for people that are in a tough situation. I always want to pay them more because they are having a tough time but then I end up not making anything. not every time but this does happen occasionally. I have been in their shoes I have walked the path most of these people are going through but I did it at an age of 23 or 24 instead of at 54 or 65+ and this is one of the demons I struggle with and that I have to get over because I need to provide for my kids and my wife.

So there is the 2.

Now we HAVE to know what you find!

Lol. The guy that's taking me to the house is late and not answering his phone but I believe he will be here. Normally when I get this excited about something and ends up being junk.

I just got back and I only have a couple minutes off to a quick run through I spent $210. One thing I have to go pick up tomorrow because I did not fit in this tiny rental car I have but it is a solid copper Eagle Weathervain. It's huge and it's old and it's in really nice shape! Well worth the hundred dollars I paid for by far but she wanted it out of her house! Also she wants me to go back another time because she has coins but I guess the guy I was with you do not feel comfortable getting them out in front of him so I have to go back in a separate time.

So I bought this for $10 I don't know if it's a fishing tackle box or just junk but there's nice little present inside of it.

They all need wiped off but she thought they were 60 to 70 years old and they're all full but one! I know I can't sell them on eBay so if you see something you like let me know

There are four AAA books they were 10 bucks!

This is all Sterling some of it's broken though I only paid five dollars for it though.

She said I could have this for a dollar she didn't know what kind of coin was in it. 1887 morgan.

image-1265590278.jpg

There's a couple other smaller pieces of stuff too and maybe will sell for 25 or $30 and then there is this. She said to take it for $10. I would say it's brand-new in the box has all the parts has an extra flash with it I have no idea I've never seen one before probably because I'm only 33 years old.

I'll take pictures of the weathervane as well when I pick it up tomorrow.

.

A Little low I know however if I sell them online I don't make much more off of them. $20-25 depending what the bid is... With free shipping. Although they will probably just end up with the rest of them that have never made it online... Everyone keeps saying silver is going down!!

Wish I could've brought that weathervane home. She said her father bought it before the Great Depression paid $600 for it! I will have it tomorrow though there was no way is going to scratch a rental car with it!
