When did you buy it, it comes with a 2 year warranty, Kellyco is the repair center for Nokta so if it is still under warranty they are who you send it to.....

I have never had that problem! I love my pinpointer and I wish I saw they had it here cheaper http://amzn.to/222XVFS
But like TH said it has a 2 year warranty, how are you removing the battery?

I just unscrew it, battery comes right out. It must now have been lined up right when I screwed the cap back on. Kellyco is taking care of it. I like it too, so now I'll have 2.

Ahh ok, I was thinking you might of used a screw driver or something. That is strange its done that. Maybe just a bad pointer you received?
