Ever have one of those days when everything seems sooooo close...yet the "good" stuff seems just out of reach?

Working a friend's house out in the country, maps suggest some good ole ground there, haven't found THAT part yet.

Did manage a 1965 clad quarter. Almost...

1910, then a 1909 wheat...what? no injuns???? Almost...

Then I nabbed this cool cameo broach, came out so nice and shinny silver, HAD to be sterling...NOPE. Plated! (Color a bit off on scanner, camera is busted, it's shinny silver trust me.)

But sometimes I'd rather dig something like the broach than old coins...this one deffinately goes in the "non fugly" display box.

Some of the farms in the area are seriously old, perhaps as early as 1800 or 1810...so anything is possible.

It LOOKS 1890's style to me, but could be a 1950's remake. No mfg mark and don't know enough about cameos to even make a good guess.

take a pix of the other side of the cameo ( if you have the pin part) thats how you can tell how old it is..by the way the pin attaches..

That's a real nice one.

I have 2 or 3 of those old cameos myself. I love to find them. There better than finding a common old coin any day.
