It was really neat to go and see a part of the county I haven`t been too yet, it would have been even neater to find some really old stuff, guess that will have to
wait for the next time.

The town we visited was established in 1777, so I was hoping for at least a large cent, but it was not to be. Starting on Monday all I found of interest was a 1934
Buffalo, my second one ever, so that was cool. Also a 73 Hong Kong ten cent piece.

Tuesday I got my first silver of the trip, a nice 45 Merc, I wasn`t familiar with the town yet so I just walked sidewalk strips and it paid off.

Wednesday got better as I kept doing sidewalks and found a 42 Merc, later in the day I was going by an older looking house and was lucky to get permission to
detect it and found my oldest Merc yet, 1918!

Thursday I hit some sidewalks on the other side of town and got another Merc, 1938 this time and about an hour later got a really loud signal, it turned out to be
a 1944 Washington!

Friday was slow, but I did manage another permission and found a 43 war nickel, and 4 bullets and a really cool button.

Saturday was the best, drove three hours down to South Carolina for the seeded hunt put on by the Sandhill Metal Detecting and Relic Club.

There were three separate hunts and I found 13 Rosies,4 Mercs, 2 Washingtons, a SLQ, a 64 Kennedy and last coin of the hunt was a no date Buffalo, also won a nice set of ear phones, hat and XP Deus shirt.

It would have been a lot more fun, but it was about 95 degrees out, and this yankee was dying out there!!!
Now the big question, do you guys count coins found in a hunt in your yearly totals?!?!:icon_scratch:

Looks like you made some nice silver finds while there. Personally, when I did the "seeded" hunts, I did not count those coins in my yearly totals. I only count the coins/items that I find while actually metal detecting. Everyone is different and it's nice that you announced it in your post that some were found detecting, and some were from a seeded hunt, otherwise it would be misleading to members.

Nice finds! I don’t do seeded hunts but if I did they would not count toward my yearly totals.

Congrats on the nice naturally found silvers! I wouldn't count stuff from a seeded hunt but that's just me... it's a little different in my mind. You know the coin is there and you know how it got there. I do however count a coinstar find as a find. I feel like there are layers to it. If I found a gold coin in coinstar it would be awesome but it wouldn't be the same as finding it in the wild. The coin in the wild has a history of being lost by someone x amount of years ago in a different time. The coinstar coin would probably have an even more extensive history if it could talk but the fact that a modern contemporary person lost it is not as fascinating to me. I guess I'm delving into the philosophic level of finding stuff. But congrats on it all. We all share the excitement of finding stuff and that's what makes it all so special!
