NOT ONE BUT 2 MERC'S TODAY

hi all,
went to a park decided to dig everything, started finding lot of old style pull tabs so i stayed in a small area for close to 3 hours, well worth the time, found 3 wheats in one hole,1916 ?? a 1930 ?? and a 1942 all pretty cruddy !!! then i found the first merc at 7 inches down (sweet) either a 1943 or 1945 the date had a dent on the last number, then i found a 1942 "p" war nickel, then another merc a 1927, both mercs are a little tarnished on the backs but I'LL take um. along with a little clad and tons of JUNK !! also a "WHATS IT" some piece of cheap jewelry, looks old but no marking on it maybe pewter or aluminum or something, with a few small small blue stones with a few missing. Happy Hunting Poppa19

Re: NOT ONE BUT 2 MERC'S TODAY

Congrats on the great silver. I actually believe that most of us, me included, miss a lot of stuff the better we get with our detectors because we set them up to the way we want them to operate, or what we want to find. Some hunt in the all metal mode and dig every target, and when it comes down to it, they find the best treasures. Way to go!
