Went out for the first time in a few years. Didn't have awesome luck but it could have been worse. The weather was Amazzzzzing and I had good company 8-) Found this old shell casing from what I have Google it appears to be 1870's-1930 from the stamp on the back. And then I also found a old button or snap possibly? in the same area.. I can faintly see maybe a eagle head with a anchor? I really don't know the best way to clean this so that it is more visible. I don't know how old my hunt site is.. It had tons and tons of nails, pull tabs and can tops with "LUCKY" stamped in them the rest of the can was rusted away.

Any time you can get out and enjoy beautiful scenery like that, coupled with good weather, is a nice day!

treasure is where you find it,

You say that's your second Ace 250, you must be satisfied with 'em. I've only had mine about a week (first detector). I haven't made any great discoveries but there have been many rewards so far...

I'm wondering if you searched good around that big tree by the foundation (in above photo), it looks promising. The thing about old homesteads though, most of the people that lived remote like that didn't drop a lot of pocket change, but there are still other neat items I bet.

peace,
cc

I would try maybe boiling peroxide then dropping coin in for 30 minutes. I just put the peroxide in the microwave for 30 seconds. After you get it out of peroxide rub it with a bit of baking soda. You could also try electrolysis. Only do these on coins you don't think is very valuable.
