I headed back to the site of the old Brougham Hotel for 4 hours today. I decided to detect the 'backyards' of a couple of the properties adjacent to the hotel property; this is where I found the modern coins and the poker chip. There used to be houses here until about 5 years ago when they were torn down. Only finding modern junk here, I wondered further into the fields out back, this is where I found most of the other relics. :icon_thumleft:

The amber 'Poison' bottle came out of the same hole as the three other pieces of iron; I'm surprised it survived intact! I found a suspender clip with a couple of early patent dates on it and what I at first thought was a buckle, but now I don't know what it is?! :icon_scratch:

I'll post the 'buckle' piece and the 'Y' iron relic in the 'What Is It' section,
as I have no idea what these are from! :dontknow:

Thanks for looking and Have a Happy Easter!
Dave

PS. I spilled the dog food on the kitchen floor yesterday! :laughing7:

You got a keeper with that poision bottle. Poisons are very collectible.
I first thought your dog food pic was the pennies you dug that day, :laughing7:

Thanks Glen!
When I dumped the dog food on the floor,
all my wife did to help me was to run to get the camera! :laughing7:

Hope you and your family have a relaxing Easter!

Thanks for your post ironhorse! I remember back when I was 15 or 16 I used to dig farm dumps in the woods near where I grew up and I once found a cobalt blue 'coffin' poison bottle! I remember selling it for $15, that was a lot of money back in 1979 or so I thought! Here's a pic of what it looked like next to the same style of bottle I found yesterday.

Best of luck to you!
Dave

Hey Dave, thanks for posting bud!
This is only the second bottle I've found while detecting, the first was a 1950's 'Mae West' style Coke bottle.

Best of luck to you this year!

Nice poison bottle. Sweet old glass. Congrats!

Done the pet food dump before, except with cat food. Our dog usually helps me clean it up. LOL

Isn't that the truth! :laughing7:
My dog started running around the kitchen trying to eat her food as fast as we were cleaning it up!

Best of luck to you Marinehunter!

Thanks for your post River Rat!
It's funny everyone likes the poison bottle the best! :laughing7:

My favorite find was the little brass wheel, it's very well made!
It's hard to see it in the 'dirt pile', so here it is after 24hrs in the rock tumbler.

Best of luck to you RR,
Dave
